I currently own the Bose QC 15 headphones. The noise canceling is fantastic, it allows me to study across my college campus without distraction and makes airplane travel great. However I have been thinking about purchasing a new headphone set for home. I watch a large amount of movies and listen to a lot of music (classical, jazz, classic rock all in flac). I currently use my QC15's at home, however with no other noise to cancel at home noise canceling headphones are really not necessary. I'm looking at buying the Sennheiser HD 650's along with a Nuforce Icon HDP amp/DAC. This is the first time I have considered purchasing higher end audio equipment. It scares me that I will be purchasing this equipment without the opportunity to first try it out in a store. Do the 650's make sense or will this be overkill for my purposes? I was also looking at the Schiit Asgard 2 or Valhalla for an amp along with a Bifrost amp. However buying both an amp and DAC will be more expensive than just buying the Icon HDP.
