I have Senns HD 380 Pro I use at home and It's too bulky to wear outside, and I'm planning to get this V-MODA for portability.. worth it based on sound and build quality or pass? Thanks for looking.

My guess is that you won't get any definitive answer. I saw a great deal on it on amazon.fr and then tried to make some research.

Some people love it, some people hate it, some people says that burning will make them feel incredible while other says that nothing change.

So my bet would be : just try it and send it back if you hate it.

I recently ordered the V-Moda Crossfade LP at the steal deal price and am currently awaiting to receive them. I primarily ordered them for a robust portable headphones that can take some travel damage.

From my research and experience the sound quality is not fantastic and the measurements represent that[1], however some posts have indicated burn-in significantly improves quality[2]. A lot of people who have tried them have said they aren't worth the initial $200 price tag, but at the reduced price I think it is hard to pass up if you're needing a pair for solely travelling purposes. A common comment is the bass can come across rather 'muddy' if you do not have a decent source[3].

I linked a few informative threads.

I've heard a pair of Crossfade LP's from a decent source and I think the reduced price is worth the sound and build quality. I intend to burn mine in and see where it goes from there.

Were you able to get it?

I'm also hesitating in purchasing them at 80€. I love my V-Moda M-80 as on-ear but for over-ear I think that the Crossfade Lp would be a step down in term of sound quality compared to my AKG K181DJ, only stepup would be in design.

I agree with you. The M-80 has a superior sound quality and are portable and robust, if I had an M-80 I wouldn't go near the Crossfade LP for travel use. I would save my wallet to be sorry for something else. ;)

It's not to replace them, it's because I can't use M-80 in winter because it's too cold, I wanted something a litttle bit more comfy than the K181DJ :D

But I really like the sound quality of the K181DJ... that's why I'm scared of the LP, I guess i'll wait to find something else ^^
