Customs too much isolation for traffic?

My last IEMS were Westone 4Rs that I sadly lost on a flight.

I am now buying a replacement and trying to decide between getting another 4R or a custom like 1964 or earsonics.

I am wondering if anyone has 4/R and a custom so they can tell me if custom isolates sound a lot more than 4? I cycle with IEMs and found the 4s fine at low volume to hear traffic, but if a custom blocks out a fair bit more noise it could block out too much noise. If they barely block any more then they should be OK.

I would never commute with customs. Nor would I use most IEM's.
