I understand that for US residents the price is high. However, the JH13s are £950 in the UK.

Hi

Have you idea of reshelling cost to UK resident? Would be really useful in decision making.

Cheers.

Cheers for info. That's a bit too long for me to wait.

Thanks anyway, much appreciated.

Cosmic Ears reshell for £100

You will ruin the JH13 Pro Freqphase if you re-shell them from anyone besides JH Audio.

Quote:
Freqphase is not just an “upgrade” to your current JH13JH16 or JH16 w/3A monitors. It’s a totally new way of constructing the units. Yes, the drivers we are using are the same, but the way they are configured along with the shell itself are highly modified. While we cannot get into some of the specifics (think the secret family recipe for Bush’s Baked Beans), we can mention that the JH13 went from a dual bore to a triple bore configuration. The JH16 has stayed the same as a triple bore.

That means there is significant new boring and shelling principles at work and that information is proprietary. Having them shelled by anyone else will ruin the original sound signature.

Do not re-shell the JH13 Pro Freqphase by anyone other than JH Audio.

Having anyone else beside JH Audio re-shell the monitors would be throwing away your money.

Edit: Also...Last I checked...JH Audio does not do re-shells. So...

Many thanks - that makes a lot of sense.

JH do not reshell IEM.

Both InEarZ and Cosmic Ears claim that they can reshell the JH Freqphase IEMs with no sound change (except that of the shell material itself I suppose)

That's interesting considering the shelling is proprietary. I'm curious how they would have backwards engineered that shelling method. I would be cautious myself.

I, however, get wanting to re-shell used CIEM's. I had to use my entire bonus to order the JH13s I ordered this morning.

Reshelling as long as the three internal tube lengths from the BAs (bass, mids and treble) are maintained will give you the same freq phase sound. To my knowledge, the shell shape has nothing to do with the sound.
