AKG K702 vs. AKG Q701 for competitive gaming, EDM, and classical.

Hello, I've been looking to upgrade my ATH-M50's and I need help deciding between the K702's and the Q701's for gaming and EDM. I know the K702's have a more expansive sound stage with more detail, but lack distinct lows which, according to others, makes EDM sound rather bad. The Q701's on the other hand have more bass at the cost of a slightly less detailed sound stage. (this is all based on what I've read so I have no idea if the claims are true or not)

I want the expansive sound stage for competitive FPS games (like Tribes Ascend and BF3) but I also would something that is very balanced and sounds good with all types of EDM and classical music. Which of the two do you think I should go for? Or should I go for something completely different?

PS. I'll be using the Schiit Vali + Modi combo. Let me know what you think!

FWIW, they're all the same now. K701=K702=Q701. And the difference between the Q701 and K712 is just the pads.

If you want the older version, look for a 7-bump K701 or a K702 with a low serial number.

Oh, okay thanks. I'll go look around a bit more.
