UE 6000 or Grado SR80i - What do you think? First pair of real Headphones

This will be my first pair of real headphones, and I know comparing the two is probably apples and oranges - but these two intrigue me.

The UE 6000 are now around $90. Grado's are about $100 + tax. I have looked up both headphones extensively on the forum and online elsewhere, but there's nothing that directly compares the two. And I'm just curious to hear your opinions, pros, cons, whatever you can offer before I make the purchase.

I am going to be using these primarily at home. Every now and then I may use them at work, in my office. I will also be using them for gaming. I saw that the UE 6000 has a built in mic in the chord, but I can't figure out if it works with PC since everyone just says it works for answering calls on the iphone. Regardless, I can buy an attachable mic.

I know there are a lot of differences between the two. The UE look new age and stylish. The Grado's have an original vibe and just look really appealing. I know both will produce better sound than I'm ever used to hearing.

Specific questions: Are the Grado's isolating to any degree or will they leak a ton of noise? And how are they comfort-wise being on-ear, especially compared to the UE. Do the UE 6000 get sweaty or sticky with that leather ear cup design?

I guess just give me any opinions you have and help me make the most informed choice possible!

Grados isolate not at all and leak a ton.

I love grados but for your intended use I would definitely suggest the ue6000 or another closed back headphones.

Just got the UE6000. $81.00 - brand new. Based on everything I've heard, that seems like an absolute steal...couldn't pass it up! I'm very excited for them to get here. Should have them by Friday.

I'm keeping the Grado's in the back of my mind, though. But for my purposes, it had to be the UE6000. Now I just hope the mic works with my PC.
