Hi there first post on the forums...

One question ( Best IEM for £500/$800), i have been running a shure se535, this is through a samsung galaxy and a fiio e17, i have been looking at mainly at um, but rhapsodio iems look quite interesting, any help would be greatly appreciated ,

Thanks!

The Heir Audio IEMs are rated well here and they look gorgeous. Right now they are having a good discount. You can even get their CIEMs for your budget.

By this price point its really a lot more relative. You dont really have any "bang for the buck" sort of iem anymore.

I love the ASG-2 for a more bassy and warm sound and its gotten a ton of love as well as a ton of hate on the forums.

I would also consider fit ear F111 or earsonics iems for more mid centric sound if that's what you're looking for.

Any considerations of going into custom iems?

I could consider going into ciem, heir audio seem to have a wide range of iems

Do you have any amplifiers DACs etc? In other words how do you plan to run your music.

ah ahh my bad. completely forgot bout that haha. Looks to me like you're looking more for a portable set up.

Honestly the Shure 535 is quite a nice iem itself. Do you like that sound signature? I see two options for you.

Either upgrading the shure 535 (maybe selling it to fund for your next purchase) or to find an iem with a different sound signature to complement the 535 so you have more diversity when listening to your music.

Which do you think you're looking for?

i quite like the heir 4ai and the 5, but are the much of an upgrade to the se535, ? also looking at the rhapsodio Ref one and the R-6 ...

The heir 4.Ai would be an upgrade to the SE535. They also sound very similar though. On the other hand, the 5.0 is a completely different sounding iem. I think it would be a good consideration to try out the 5.0. And heir is still going on with their sale right?

I just recently got their rendition 1 on sale and its quite good if you're considering an amp at all

I've never tried any rhapsodio iems before. But all i can say is personally, im quite a fan of the BA and dynamic driver hybrid iems. Ive tried the Tralucent Audio 1plus2 (which apparently has some sort of connection to Rhapsodio?) and i currently own and love the **** out of my ASG-2. Could be an interesting venture to go into too =P

sennheiser ie800's are on sale for around $800 on amazon.com. I would definitely check them out since they have been regarded one of the best universal IEM's on the market. They are a great dynamic driver headphone.
