My vision is quite poor. Will it make things better? Do they charge for one eye or both?

Because a headphone forum is the best place to get advice on surgery that involves cutting a slice off your eye ball and shooting it with a laser? OK...

Consider DIY.

But seriously, ask your doctor if you're even a candidate. If your vision is -8.00 or greater, you'll probably be told not to have LASIK, particularly if you have other ocular conditions, such as astigmatism.

If you're a candidate, be sure to have the procedure performed by a surgeon with a lot of experience.

This procedure has been improved over time from actual cutting with a blade to much more precise, and less damaging, cutting with a laser.

Doctors who perform this surgery are generally in it for the money, so they'll be willing to do anything you want--not that that's advisable! You should have a regular eye doctor whom you trust to help you make these decisions.
