Auralic is too punchy. Lacks nuance.

For what kind of music ? Amplified ? Auralic will do fine. Complex orchestral ? Auralic will laminate it.

That is very interesting experience. What settings do you use, Clock and Filter?

Try Exact with Filter 1 or 2 (both are recommended for orchestral), the default one (4) can gloss over stuff for 44.1K a bit but even in that mode I would never call Vega punchy, laminated, and lacking nuances, contrary, way too resolving comparing to everything I've heard but don't know what's your reference is.

Are you sure you are not confusing it for Hex?
