Tough question - full size, efficient, extreme comfort and more specifics - please help me with...

Ok, here goes. After several years of trying and owning so many bloody headphones I am getting to a point where I think I know what I like.

I owned a bunch of headphones as follows -

- jvc ha-fxz200, denon ah-c751s, Sennheiser HD558, 600, 202ii, px200 IIi, sony mdrex91, ath-ad900x, Sennheiser hd415, FA-011, REO, brainwavz b2, beyers dt880 600 ohm and plenty more.

I have had all sorts of amps too.

But. I've decided I can't be bothered with amps. At home or when out and about, but mainly at home, I will just use my iPad Air or iPhone 5S as the source. Music is at 320 mp3 bit rate and I listen to everything, every genre. I lean more to classical and jazz, but will listen to everything.

At present I have in ears Sony XBA-H1 which I like , but in ears for long term comfort don't wash with me, so these might go. I like these for the extra wallow of bass they provide and sound.

However, my main pair of headphones are the amazing Sony MDR-1R. So bloody comfortable which is really important and portray every genre really well. I recently got to own a pair of Sennheiser Amperior and Logitech UE6000. The Amperiors was good but their clamping killed me. The Logitech UE 6000 were an impulse buy on Amazon Black Friday deals and I never expected to like them. But I did apart from the noise cancelling hiss.

Because the UE were over the ears they were comfortable and with the noise cancelling switched on you got a soft thump of bass, which I really loved.

So what I'm looking for is a full size of headphone, that can be driven properly from an iPad Air or iPhone 5S, comfy, with sound characteristics of the Sony MDR-1R but with the extra bass of the Logitech UE 6000.

Budget. £250 ish. I want to get this purchase right. If they meet all expectations I will sell my in ears Sony and MDR 1Rs. So budget could creep to £300 I suppose.

Cheers for those recommendations. Both those are £500 though in UK, so too expensive.
