That legit sounds like some bodysnatchers ****. How do I know you're NOT Mochill?

...Quick, do the Rockets sound "organic"?

It's been an hour, and I literally cannot make myself stop listening. I've listened to everything from Lee Ritenour and Leonard Cohen, to System of a Down and Biggie Smalls. I'm really ready to declare the Rockets the best phones I've ever heard, but I don't want to be rash. I just can't find anything they do wrong, and there so much they do frickin' right. I may come up with issues later though.

The biggest things about the Rockets that jump out at me are:

1. Wicked texturing and detail. I'm hearing s**t I've never heard in some of my favorite. Details, newly found harmonics, you name it.

5. Wicked bass punch and rumble when the song calls for it. Listening to Drake's "All Me", I was surprised by how much and how good the bass is. I'm hearing bass lines that were previously hidden.

Looking back at the stuff I just typed, I realize I sound a lot like mochill lol.

I think unity had a mochill moment as well. He developed three postitis, lol,
(I am still sorry for demanding edited posts. I truly am)

Now you obtained an illness known to headfi, le honeymoon experience ala chill.

I felt the same way when I first received thee latest sony and audio technica. More details, less veils, detailed bass that I have not heared before, micro details, and harmonics lol. Though I never explained it in such short detail like you or mochill, nice work. I definitely believe that this rockey is my second end all iem.

Haha. Mochill hype is best hype.

Rockets are indeed top tier. I feel even more blessed that I got these at $99 for being an early backer. A definite end all universal iem candidate if there ever was one. Going to be impossible for me to match this kind of investment for such a complete consumer experience in both sound and build quality.

Hopefully they can continue this line for future iterations.

Add more organic, neutral, natural, soundstage depth and height, and realistic harmonics in this hype. You will definitely be aurisonics marketing manager in no time!

I think a good discount should do it, that way they receive money and you get to keep the iem.

I thought gnarl vacated that marketing position already...:biggrin.gif

Gnarl is just the first among many. As much as it pains me to say it, mochill is already redundant here. I will of course be waiting for his opinion about how these sound with their filters removed but that's it. Now if you will excuse me, i have a flying pig to catch.

A nap later...

Yep, I still feel the same. Less of the sleep deprivation induced language, but  I really like them.

2. Wicked clarity

3. Spectacular imaging. It's almost like the Rockets specialize in ambiance.

4. A soundstage that is waaaayyy more open than I expected. Seriously, I fired up some binaural tracks from Chesky's Explorations in Space and Time, and I was floored. I've uploaded a track to     youtube so Rockets owners can behold the awesomeness. You may want to crank the volume a bit:

On a slightly more serious note:
I don't even wanna ruin this for people with impressions.

Dale you sweet beautiful bastard. I should have bought 3.

To be honest, the imaging and stage realism is so good, that when I listen to binaural tracks (that don't go behind your head) it just sounds like a different placement of images/instruments rather than sounding significantly more realistic. It's that good.

I am gonna put my ass out on the line here and say this is not honeymoon level stuff. Might people be less enamored over time? Maybe, preferences are preferences, but the technicalities are undeniable.

What Sony did you recently hear that had less veils and detailed bass you had not heard before?
