I don't know of anyone around here who has a BHSE, Woo WES or Cavalli LL but would of course love to hear any of those amps with the 009s.

That sounds like a really good idea. It would be great if someone owned a BHSE or KGSSHV as well to compare, but it doesn't sound like that is the case. I'm not familiar with your DIY amp, do you have any links to its design or user base?

It's a push-pull tube design using 6SN7 outputs and triodes throughout, but it was made by a friend and I don't have a schematic or anything like that. I know he looked at Gilmore's schematics for the Blue Hawaii and the T2, but it's not really based on those. I'm trying to get him to come to the meet.

That is an excellent point! I will be on much safer ground with my other half, if we have it on the Saturday!

By the way, I spoke to Pat Tang of Pat's Audio Arts about our meetup. He told me that he will try to get one of the guys to come to represent his store and to bring some headphone gear. Pat sells Stax and Grado. He stocks the Stax 307, 407, 507 and SR-007 MkII headphones, as well as each model of amp, I believe. Hopefully he oe his associate brings those for others to try.

I have had really good service from Pat of Pat's Audio Arts and from Travis of Headphone Bar, so I am quite pleased to see that both will try to be there.

Seriously, I think that we should switch it to the Saturday.

Many thanks to Fireboy for pointing that out!

Not sure about Saturday because Travis's store is open on Saturday. I'll talk to him about it. Also, we're going to have to have Pat talk with Travis because Headphone Bar is paying for the room and if we have another vendor there, we might have to get them to split. Otherwise, it'll be unfair to Travis.

I agree with Parkie about switching, but to the following Sunday May 18th. Definitely want Travis to be there. I bought my HD650's from him earlier this month.

Ironically, it makes sense we forgot about mothers day, after all, how many of us talk to our spouses about our gear.

and feel free to check out what I'll bring...

You are exactly right. I realized as soon as you mentioned it, that there would be a conflict. Another option if it becomes a bit awkward is for each of us to chip in $5-$10 to pay for the room. My intention was to support the two best shops in Vancouver : )

I'll let Travis know and they can talk it out. Also, I'll update everyone if Travis is able to get someone else to look after the store if the meet is absolutely required to be that Saturday. Otherwise, I vote for the next Sunday. However, I know there are a few people who can not make it to the 3rd Sunday so if everyone could post a comment regarding the dates they can or cannot make would be very helpful.
