D marc0's Journal: My Head-fi Journey (NEW: T-PEOS Altone 200 Review!) - Page 16

Noble have done a great job on the packaging and accessories. It's those little things like the outer box that make unboxing a little more special.

I know you already like the cable, though soon I have a nice SPC upgrade cable worth considering. ;)

Mmmh imagine those black shells with a glistening white cable connected.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

No pressure, no pressure. All in good time.

Oh yes...yes...YES!!

I can totally vouch for this, as I have one proudly connected to Merlin, and sounds absolutely sublime

:beerchug:

Congrats on the Noble 4 mate, do review that in depth, I can't wait to read what you think about it

That cable does look nice! I hope it does make a difference when paired with an all-BA IEM like the Noble 4.

Of course it will.  People are upgrading IEM cables on Westone 4, TF10, SM3 v2 all the time.

Well... Time to save up again! This might delay my purchase of the ax35! Tsk tsk

If you are planning to keep our Noble 4's, then I think cable first before AX-35, that way you will get a lot more enjoyment out of the Noble 4's

I might as well. We'll see how it goes!

So for now, I'm using the DN1000 stock tips (wide bore) on the Noble 4 and they are perfect. The extension and airiness is so much better.

I love the bass on the Noble 4, they don't really purely sound like BAs because of the added bit of warmth to it. Also, quantity in the sub bass is minimal but then again I did ask for a flat signature and its exactly what I got. I can hear 20hz but its really faint.

I finally found a slight deviation from neutrality... there's a mild peak around 7khz but its really only noticeable with certain sibilant songs. On the other hand, really adds to the clarity in the overall presentation.

MIDS! oh my, I've never heard mids this rich/full ever! This IEM really excels in classical, jazz, and contemporary music. Timbre, Imaging, and layering are best I've heard. Reminds me of the 1plus2!

That's all for now folks!

Yeah, the N4's mids are top notch and definitely steal the show. To be honest, after I blindly purchased the N4, I felt some buyer's remorse spending that kind of money on an iem that still hasn't been released and doesn't have any reviews and even pictures but luckily after I received it I needed only a couple of minutes with it to breathe a sigh of relief. It's definitely worth the money and at the BF price it was pretty much a steal.

Are the mids on Noble 4, slightly cool in tonality? Is it a ittle bright sounding?

KInda depending on the tips. With the stock tips with the dark blue core that most people use with it, the n4 is very slightly on the warm side of neutral but is more natural sounding. If you use something like the ortofon tips the n4 gets more like er4s in tone - a bit on the cool side of neutral and a bit brighter with more sparkle.

Sounds like I would like it, ER4S tone is perfect. My RDB Mini leans brighter than ER4S, so I'm right at home with analytical signatures (or close to). I will probably get to hear Noble 4 eventually. I like the look of the shells finish too. Mostly I'm happy for Mark, this was something he had been considering for a while. There were many pm msgs before his purchase.

Yeah, I'm sure you'll like it although probably more with some ortofon tips on. Anyway, it's good that he likes it coz I know a lot of people who decided to take the big step into higher-end stuff and weren't happy with their purchase afterwards. I still remember my disappointment few years ago after I bought the sennheiser ie8 and had to exchange it just a few days later, so it's always nice when someone gets what he wants the first time.

Yes mate, you will definitely like this! It's borderline analytical to my ears but still retains a natural timbre/sound, so you're not giving up any detail and clarity while staying musical/natural sounding.

But wait there's more...

paired with the C5 with bass boost on (+6.5db @ 80hz?) The sound signature gets pretty close to Goldenears Target. This is the signature that I prefer for most genres.
