AKG k280 Parabolics and replaing foam pads underneath ear pads.....

I recently got a very nice pair of K280 headphones off craigslist. I was interested in replacing the ear pads with the velours. Anyway, when removing one of the ear pads I noticed that the circular foam underneath the ear pad was kind of rotting, it would fall apart if disturbed. Can I replace these and how would I do this? Would I have to cut my own, and are these needed for dampening?

eidt: I called AKG yesterday and they were pretty clueless about what pads I could replace the old ones with also.

I actually got help from Frank Rodriguez, spare parts at Akg. I ordered the foam discs from the k240 and the velour pads from the k271 to replace the old ones.
