For Sale:
AMB a20 Balanced Pre Amplifier

Will Ship To: Anywhere

Build by the one and only "SWA"

This is a Fully Balanced Dual Mono Sigma 22 Analog pre amp in separate enclosures with a Gold Point Attenuator.

This pre amp will compete with some of the more costly active pre amps out there.  It served me very well paired with my First Watt F1J and HE-6.

It replaced all of my digital pre amps that I was using in my DACS ie  PWD mk2, NAD M51.  This analog pre amp with it's "Gold Point Attenuator" did a far better job.

i would like the buyer to contact me so that i can extend customer service and answer any questions.  the umbilicals are long enough for stacking but can be lengthened.  with the custom encapsulated transformers from SumR, it's completely hummmm free even when stacked.  the gain is also adjustable via resistor jumpers inside the amp.

also, the single transformer primaries are 120V mains only.  i spec them this way from SumR to discourage sales over seas.

Would it work with 100V? I've been after a relatively small balanced pre-amp for some time, to use with active monitors.

i honestly don't know.  i can contact SumR on Mon.  the spec is actually 117VAC.  i would need to hook it up to my variac to see how it performs/measures at lower mains as well.  do you have much mains variability below 100V?

I'm in the market for a balanced pre-amp, but this may be a little outside my price range. I was wondering, if it did such a good job and better than the built in digital in those sources, then why are you getting rid of it? I believe you also have an Audio-gd master 7, which doesn't have a digital volume control at all.

Thanks,

Ben

I have a new DAC with an analog pre amp built in.  The AMR DP-777 it has a really good pre.

I paid almost twice as much - well really a little more than twice as much as my asking price to have it built.  So the deal is a steal.

The Master 7 is sold.
