i would get the best pair you can for the money you have and then get an amp a little while later.

that way you get to enjoy the headphones without the amp, and then when you do get the amp it will be a very nice upgrade in SQ.

this is only a good idea if you are willing to spend the 200 now and get an amp for about 100 later on.

though your best bet for instant gratification for the money will probably be the Fiio E11 and one of the cheaper headphones. :L3000:

Thanks haha. If I bought the more expensive headphones, I'd get the amp a couple of months later probably (maybe more). If the amp and one of the cheaper headphones don't make THAT much of a difference with $200 headphones, then perhaps that would be my choice (let's consider that I'm in a university budget, and probably will be happy as long at the sound is excellent for the price haha).

By the way, any similarly priced alternatives to the FiiO E11? They seem to be great, but cannot be used while charging (shame, because their price seems convenient).

Thanks a lot for all advices and such. Unfortunately, I live in Chile, thus I have to pay tons of cash for shipment + taxes. That's why I finally settled for ATH M50S with SRH840 pads for fixing the comfort issue (shipment + taxes meant +$70-80) instead of choosing anything else; nevertheless, I'm very stoked for them. Again, thanks a lot, I will gladly follow your advice when I start making enough money haha.
