I hope this thread is in the right place. So, I'm thinking about sending my Sennheiser HD-600's in for a repair, under warranty. They are experiencing intermittent drops in sound on the right side, and it's been getting more frequent. If I end up sending them away, I'd like to get another pair of headphones to listen to while they are being fixed/replaced. I'm not sure how long it will take.
My thinking is to get something that offers a different sound signature than the HD-600's... It would be nice if I could find something that pairs up well with my Bottlehead Crack OTL amplifier (best for high impedance), but another option would be to use the on-board amp (BPA2) on my Benchmark DAC2.
My budget could go to about $200 ideally, maybe as high as $300. Open or closed designs would be fine. I'd prefer to buy used if possible, but would consider anything really. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
