Yamaha HP-1 'Rare' Headphones In Almost New Condition (Offers)
Will Ship To: Anywhere
So I've thought about this over the last few months, and still not 100% sure I wanna let them go to be honest (damn things look and sound cool), but at the same time I have hardly used them since I purchased them a few years ago, no more than a dozen times at the most!
Also, I've just purchased a pair of Fostex TH600 phones, so expect I'll be busy with them at home, and my Sennheiser 25's phones when out on the train and tube...
The guy I purchased them from was the original owner. He was a high-end hi fi guy in the trade, and he purchased them around the end of the 1980's, start of the 1990's.
They have had little use from the original owner as well, so subsequently are almost like new condition.
The pads are in great shape, unlike most that (occasionally) pop up for sale on the bay.
The metal frame of the headband has no cracks, splits or scratches, and the soft suede leather is in top shape also. I'd go as far as to say they may not be still fully burnt in even, due to the minimal hours they have had on them to date!
This is also the rarer version of the HP-1 Orthodynamic headphones (towards the end of their production run). They come in the original black box with silver text (as opposed to the silver box of the more commonly seen early models).
The box itself shows a little sign of wear after all these years, small tear down one side of the opening corners at the top, but nothing major. When these occasionally appear on the bay they are never in this kind of shape, and are normally the earlier models in the silver boxes.
More detailed info about the headphones are here on this Head-Fi link: http://www.head-fi.org/t/111193/orthodynamic-roundup
If anyone is interested, make me a fair offer for these rare beauties.
I doubt you'll find these again in such great shape, and I'm not aware of them showing up for sale very often on this forum either!
