Ok, so I know this isn't the ideal site for a question like this, but to be honest I'm desperate now. Been driven to my wits end. Sorry.

Basically, I'm trying to record some guitar through an audio interface into Cubase. I end up with gaps, pops, and clicks in my recording.
I have set the recording buffer up to 16000 samples and there is still an issue. I have enabled DMA on the hard drive. I have stopped any unnecessary tasks during recording. I've set my PC to "high performance" mode. I've done literally everything I can find on the internet.

Is there ever going to be a solution to this? Or should I just sell my interface and try and get hold of a standalone digital recorder?
Can I reduce the issue by installing more RAM?

Thank you for any suggestions,
