Portable AMP for 52 ohm Headphones? Are they all just over exaggerating?

So I own Sennheiser HD380 and even though it's only 52 Ohm and I think about 110 db sensitivity, I am happy with the sound. It's loud enough.

Now ... people that buy FiiO E12, Fiio E10 and other small AMPs just rave about how they 32-52 ohm headphones started sounding so much better once run through an amp.

Is it true or are they imagining things that are not there?

The headphone amplifiers that are built into the Fiio E12, E10 and other FiiO amps are better at driving headphones, then a lot of the "unamped" jacks that a lot of headphones are plugged into (like older motherboards and older sound cards).

Some headphones respond better to amplifiers then others.

What sources are you plugging the headphones into?
