Hi chaps, I'm somewhat new to this and would like to get some advice...this is for a new Electra I just picked up. Does anyone know the difference between the following?
[Cheapest] Shuguang CV181-Z
Premium Grade Shuguang Treasure CV181-Z
Classic Grade PSVane Treasure CV181-T
[Most expensive!] Premium Grade PSVane Treasure CV181-T
PSVane Treasure CV181-T Mark II
Classic Grade PSVane Treasure CV181-T Mark II
Notes in no particular order :-
- I know from reading that PSVane was started by some engineers who left Shuguang
- Within the PSVane range, I gather that the Mark II are just a revision update of the original CV181-T
- There seems to be 3 grades too of "no grade", Classic, and Premium and my understanding it's just how the tubes were measured officially or unofficially and presumably Premium is measured officially with certificates, etc.
The puzzling question from me is why the Premium Grade older CV181-T is more expensive than the newer Mark II (and the non-classified PSVane grade Mark II is more expensive than the Classic Grade Mark II)?? Is it worth it to go for the Premium Grade older CV181-T or just go with non-graded or Classic-grade CV181 Mark II version?
