Decision Time. Headphones for Gaming

Thread Starter

Ok.. So I have been doing research for a while and it has come time for me to make a decision and im hoping for some weigh ins from some other people who have experience with my choices. These headphones will be used solely for gaming. (Paired with an Astro Mix Amp, however i dont know which year or model yet, and will also need a mic, wether attached or detachable modded etc)

AD700's... These have been outed as the favorite for a very long time. I love the look (even with the weird colors). Problem is that it is hard to find them these days. I dont have enough posts to post a wanted page in the classifieds, and the cheapest on Amazon is around 140 for used ones.

The TAD 500's ... I have heard little about these because they arent as popular. From what I have heard they arent as great as the AD700s but are cheaper etc. Any information on these will be lovely

Astro A40'S... easy to use because it comes with the mic etc. However the headset alone is around 200 and from what I have heard they are not worth the money.

(Any opinions on the AD700x's for gaming are appreciated as well) - They are easier to find. around 110 new on amazon. But I havent heard a lot on them about their use for gaming.

I would love some K701s or Q701s etc however I am trying to get the best I can for as little money as possible. Poor college kid problems. But I just use a bluetooth cell phone mic with a terrible battery life and the stereo sound from my tv. I can perform well in games but I really want to take it up to the next level.

I've been lead to believe the AT TAD-500 make decent gaming headphones.

I guess because you have to buy them from Japan, they do not get a lot of attention.

The AD700X should really function about the same as the older AD700s.
