I have a Pioneer SX-315 Stereo Receiver and I use the built in Headphone output as an amp, but i cant seem to get the exact specifications for it online or if it compares to even an entry level Dedicated amp, i have not listened to side by side comparisons, does anyone know the exact specs of it? The User Guide doesnt have it printed.

A headphone in the 250-Ohm to 300-Ohm range should be a safe choice for use with the SX-315.

Beyerdynamic DT770/DT880/DT990 250-ohm headphone would be good choices

I'm guessing the headphone output specs are not listed by Pioneer because there nothing for Pioneer to brag about.

I'm sure a Schiit Magni headphone amplifier, $99, would be a better head amp, then the SX315.

The Pioneer should do just fine. Enjoy.

In my opinion a lot of the dedicated amps are over hyped, over priced and under specified. Before buying one, especially an expensive one I would want to be convinced, preferably by listening myself, that it is worth it. Otherwise all you end up with another box and more clutter.

I actually enjoy the headphone amp on the onkyo tx-8255. It's not as clean sounding as my leckerton but the bass and mids with the onkyo sounds nice and full.
