Audio Technica ATH-IM70: A Bold New Direction - Page 7

Lol, I remember myself sitting on the balcony and thinking that it is the best sound I can probably hear while listening to my Sennhesier Mx260 through my Meizu M6 SL only a few years ago. I was feeling like I was in heaven :D

Meelec m21 was my first "high end" (I know, right? :D) iem.

anyways, has anyone compared this to the xb90ex?

Auditioned IM-70 against the AT new BA series, when i was in Japan few weeks back

1 sentence: I picked the IM-70 over the BA models anytime, was impressed by it the moment i put it on

and considering that its only around the 1 BA driver price, seriously it's a no brainer

I agree. IM-70's are fantastic for the price. Very happy with my purchase.

I wish IM-70's had another color except red. That's the main reason why i choose IM-50's over the IM-70. I hope they will relase IM-70's with another color in the future.

Btw still waiting 50's to arrive. I guess it will take a little more time because of christmas :(

I would take SQ over color any day. It could be pink, but if it sounded good, I would still purchase them.

Tried these at a shop today. Quite impressed but not too impressed with the multi driver series.

would you say these are better than the gr07 be? I thought my pair of gr07 BE  werent as bass heavy as i liked so i am looking for a new iem.

You know I wasn't that impressed with the GR07 either. It was smooth and refined, but you're right, the bass was so weak and anemic, it reminded me of any standard tuned BA driver.

Speaking of BA drivers, I ordered the TDK BA-200. If I don't like the sound I get from them, I'm taking the plunge on the IM70 next.

I don't consider myself an audiophile, but I do value good in-ear headphones for my daily commute. I currently own a CKM500 and owned a CKM55 before that. I'm kinda bored of my CKM500 and would like to buy a new set. Would you guys consider the IM70 a good upgrade from the CKM500? The thing I love about my AT is the audio clarity and the awesome Soundstage so those would be important while comparing these two. Also, where are you guys ordering it from?

Yeah, definitely a nice upgrade. The best place to purchase them would be Amazon Japan and have Tenso ship to you.

CDjapan is also an option and better one at that I believe. the price seems lower there..

I've never checked the price with CDjapan. But yeah, the price might be lower there. Might be worth checking it out.

CDjapan is great these were my first purchase from them best price and secure delivery

If you are paying with PayPal delivery is faster if the funds come from the PayPal account, if the funds come from a bank account or credit card via Pay Pal there is a wait for the funds to clear

Plus I can't stop buying stuff from CDjapan so watch out for that
