"Solar" Brand JapaneseHeadphone Review and Pointers on repairing broken wire on Koss 4AA phones.

Thread Starter

Hey Folks,
I have my Dad's old Koss 4AA phones. They sound O.K. but the right phone's wire is broken and both ear pads need repadding. Can someone point me to a thread for tips on repairing? I DIY on nearly everything I own.

Recently I found a pair of Solar brand vintage Japanese made phones mod. HD-812. (My Avatar pictures them)Seller says they are super rare and sound great. He's asking $125 for them.

Are these junk:deadhorse:? I seek a pair of upper mid-grade phones for home use. Should I pass on these Solar phones? I did a few searches here on Solar phones and found nothing.

Any recommendations on upper mid-grade phones for $100 - $130? Strictly over the ear please.

Thank you!

Karl

Check with Koss.  I believe that the vintage Pro 4AA come with a lifetime warranty.
