Astrotec AX-60... To much IEM for an iPod?

Good day Sirs...

I do not claim to be an audiophile but do enjoy listing to very good sound.  I have never had what would be considered a good set of headphones or IEMs (IEMs I prefer for isolation).

My hobbies up till now have not included investing in sound equipment so I have none to speak of.

My musical interest would be classical rock... my favorite bands being Rush, Boston, Zeppelin, Moody Blues etc.  I would only be listening with my iPod.

I really want something that is going to "knock my socks off"... something that is clear and accurate.

I know this may not be possible with the poor quality that can come with an iPod but I would like something that is so much better than my wife's Bose IEMs that I just smile at her when she says she can not tell why I spent the extra money.  Yes I know Bose are crap.

After a few days of research I have noted that the Astrotec AX-60 might be a good fit for what I am looking for.  I have read many post on recommendations and several asking basically the same recommendations that I am asking for, in this forum.

So I guess what I need to know is if my iPod will drive the AX-60 and any final thoughts and recommendations might be.

You do not need to review any IEMs for me I can find reviews on the forums.

Also the price of the AX-60 is my limit and I don't think going up from there would bring greater return for the money to my ear.

Thanks

They seem a little steep compared to Tpeos H-200 and Dunu DN1000..

Since it is rated as 12 ohms, the iPod should have no problem driving it.
