My favourite drink is quite simple, a double shot of either rum or whiskey/rye with coke in a tall glass... I can drink it like water and still feel great. Wine and beer, not so much. Too much beer makes me feel bloated and sickly, probably because of the carbonation, and wine goes straight to my head.

I voted Liquor.

Usually it's a 7 and 7, Seagrams 7 and 7-up.

If the girl is over and drinking then I'll have a White Russian; Ketel One, Kahlua and Half and Half.

While she has a Gentleman Jack and Coke.

If the girl is in the mood for beer or we are out to have a few beers it will be Modelo Especial.

Whisky: a big fan of the Islay single malts, especially Caol Ila, but I occasionally like to vary styles. Penderyn Welsh whisky is very nice indeed. Always served in a brandy-style balloon glass, with just a splash of cold water to bring out the flavour.

Wine: so many different countries producing interesting stuff right now. The South African wineries are really on a roll with their Chenin Blancs.

Rum: Angostura 1919 is like a glass of sunshine, while Kraken spiced rum slips down very (too) easily.

Beer: Theakston's Old Peculier, Brewers & Union's Beast of the Deep or a really good smoky porter, like Beavertown's Black Betty.

Gin: Hendricks or Opihr.

Forgot to add - we had some friends in Albania who would occasionally send us a bottle of their home-made Raki. Albanian Raki is more like Grappa, as it doesn't have the aniseed component of other countries' Rakis. Amazing stuff - we once flamed the Christmas pudding with it and had trouble putting it out!

Beer, beer and only beer!

Beer for me! be it a larger or a stout, beer is by far my favorite drink. i enjoy some whiskey here and there, and ill have a shot or two if im out drinking, or a nice glass or two if im at home (a half decent single malt usually does the trick), but beer is my drink of choice.

i actually really dislike sweet alcohol (or anything sweet for that matter), so i never have any ales or any of the stronger beers.

as for heavy drinking, when you know your gonna end up s**t-faced, ill sometimes have a gin and tonic, or a long island ice tea. we went to an all you can drink gin and tonic night once. i drank 8 glasses. dont remember much of that night...

youve obviously never drunk enough to get hungover, trust me. it also depends on what you mix. beer and whiskey go very well together for example, but try drinking taquila and vodka the same night and see where that gets you... theres no such thing as people who dont get hungover, only people who drink moderately - which is a good thing really.

I hate hungover. It's horrible, but having those extra beers seemed to be an excellent idea!

I like the occasional Gin & Tonic, but once bought a bottle of 'Navy Strength' gin, mixed my G'n'Ts by eye as usual and found myself in a bit of a state rather quickly!

Before you go to sleep:

Eat, and drink plenty of water.

After you wake up:

Lots of water, vitamin B, and try to exercise. Go for a run, sweat that **** out. You'll sleep like a baby.

Whenever I go out drinking, I buy a gatorade to drink afterwards.

drinking alot of water before, during, and after your drinking binge is known to be important. and sleeping enough ofcourse.

if already hungover, i believe there are 3 things you must do to shake it off:

1. drink black coffee

2. eat

3. take a dump

not necessarily in that order.
