I am not very experienced with good audio gear, and I will be more using them for pc gaming rather than normal listening.  That being said, comfort is one of the bigger points of importance and thus why I am looking to the ma900's.  From what I have read they do not need much to drive them, though it is near universally recommended to get something between them and my computer to improve the sound.  I have looked and the dragonfly DAC as it is on sale right now and that looks promising for the price, but this is where I really dont know what to look into.  Would I be better off getting a nice pc sound card or something else?

Sound cards feature virtual surround, which can be pretty good for gaming.

Only for pc, not console? Then I'd go for internal. Can give you some suggestions

What would you ideally want from a sound card/ other piece of equipment? Then let's take it from there

Well I want to make sure I am at least getting the sound I should be from the headphone. I am not a competitive gamer but I do have long sessions, I also would like the headphones to become my primary audio experience as I don't have a good space for blasting out a movie or some music late night. Really, I want to hear what I'm supposed to hear without having to fuss over little details. I certainly don't need some hugely expensive amount of gear that I cannot appreciate.

The ma900 doesn't scale that high and don't need much amplification. You'd probably want Dolby headphones for virtual surround as that tend to be the most immersive. Look into asus xonar dg for something basic.
