This is disturbing!

I was alerted by a friend to this webpage which mentions not only my name but full address as well:

At the risk of further loss of privacy, I though I would post this here to see if anyone has any suggestions/comments. Members who came over to my place for the last Head-Fi SoCal meet know that I have a hypersensitive neighbor. However after reading this blog, which borders on psychotic tracking behavior, I am a little worried. Less about the threat of eviction, more about the fact that potential employers can google my name, and the first thing that they will see is this. The property owners have already told her that she should tolerate footsteps, closets closing etc since she lives below me. There are a lot of inaccuracies about my alleged "behavior" as well. I don't cause an inconsiderate amount of noise. Is there anything I can do to have her remove my personal information off her page?

Any insights would be appreciated, thanks.

ughhh... that leaps over the fine line between anal, and creepy. I would simply e-mail their ISP (at&t), and request the page's removal. You could also consider police involvement for listing your personal information. I suspect that is illegal.

Go downstairs and talk to this lady and come to some agreement with her that is beneficial to you both. Neighbour disputes are terrible and can lead to severe stress for both parties involved, try seeing things from her side of the fence and remember that other people have a right to live without being subjected to loud annoying (to them) music.

You've got a pair of headphones? Well, start using them and when this lady sees that you are making an effort and being reasonable I'm sure she would remove that webpage if you asked her.

It's hard to do but bite the bullet and keep your noise down... it's "obviously" causing her stress and worry otherwise she wouldn't write all that stuff and get the authorities involved.

You know, Pinkie, I've actually been to her apartment, mediated by our very understanding manager, just to see how loud the music comes through. There was a barely audible bass rumble, only at the loudest volume level I play (which is still very reasonable). I hardly even listen to music on speakers anymore, it's mostly headphones. Her biggest beef seems to be "stomping", and I can honestly say, I walk around my apartment like any normal human would. The fact that our walls are pretty thin means that sound does leak through. Even the manager told me, if she can't deal with people living above her, she should move elsewhere. This woman is just really hypersensitive/psycho. It's pointless trying to come to an amicable solution because the problem lies in her head, not in my behavior.

umm, what the ******? That is one of the most deviant, obsessive things I've ever read. Not only would I continue my normal day to day habits, but I would investigate possible legal remedies. That behavior is grossly unreasonable and certainly qualifies as a defemation to your character.

I think it's time to fight back, Sasquach

Yeah, it's definitely bizarre. There must be some privacy law being broken here. Hard to do anything about it though. Maybe the best way is to aggravate her more and get her to move out. This isn't England, like where Pinkie is

For some reason I'm reminded of Mr. Heckles from the early years of "Friends." The guy who'd hear stomping when someone was simply walking across the room.

Unfortunately, this woman actually has internet capabilities. Alert the manager at the very least, this is absurd.

I concur with getting the webpage removed. Is is uncalled for to have your personal info listed there.

I would even make a legal threat. If this person really did have real resources, she would have moved along time ago.

This blog cracked me up:

"Jan 18, 2004 -- Another Sunday in hell. The Sasquatch arose at 7:15AM waking me with the usual thundering hooves then apparently took a shower during which I went back to sleep. Woke me AGAIN at 8:15AM with massive thundering running around till I gave up on trying to get back to sleep. The stomping continued unabated until around noon when new very loud, continuous, creaking, crunching noises were added. Sounds like the floors are being torn up or something. This mind-boggling noise was so amazing I had to see if I could see anything from across the courtyard. What could be going on? At 12:30 and 2:30 I checked but all the blinds were closed even though it was rather cloudy out; yet no lights were on. Why would a person walk back and forth hundreds of times in virtual darkness for 6.5 hours without stopping? These loud noises continue nonstop till 10:30PM. A grand total of 14.25 straight hours of hell! If I didn't witness it, I wouldn't have believed it!"


BTW, that was the day of a SoCal Meet.

I wouldn't worry about employers relying on this info for future employment. It is just one person's nonsensical rantings. But I would be concerned about this person's publically posting your personal info.

And this lady needs to go buy her own house where she live in her own solitude with her 50 cats.

Maby you could introduce her to head wize (or some other forum but head-fi) so she would be able to enjoy the music. You could even invite her up for the next meet...

Vikram, it's time to move and take serious action here. Get her webpage removed, report this to your apartment manager, and find a new place to live. Easiest solution.

It may not be "fundamentally" right, but this person has ill will towards you and is obviously looking to possibly get revenge.

It may be correct to rationalize and work out an amicable solution, something more diplomatic, but this person is beyond that. It's better to focus your energy on a new place to live and not deal with the stress of this person's negative energy and attitude.

It would be good for all. It would probably be in the best interests of the Sundial Apts to find a way to evict this woman, as she will make hell for many others.
