Which combo would you use for headphone listening?

Hello Everyone,

I've recently compiled several pieces of equipment - some at full retail price, others for next to nothing.  Assuming all are in good working order, I'm looking for some recommendations on the ideal setup using these pieces simply for headphone listening.

Pro Ject Debut Carbon TT

Nad PP2i Phono Preamp

Schiit Magni Headphone amp (headphones don't require amplification, got this when I just had old turntable with phono stage)

Sennheiser 598 headphones

Technics SA-GX190 Stereo Receiver

Simplest is either:

1) TT into phono input of receiver with headphones directly plugged into receiver

or

2) TT into NAD into Magni into headphones

Longest trail is TT -> Nad -> Receiver - > Magni - > Headphones

I've tested multiple combinations and there isn't one that is hands down the best.  I'm wondering which "should" sound the best.  Again, these components weren't acquired in a logical or planned order.

Thanks you very much!

Here is some technical data on the Nad and Technics:

Nad 992i Preamp - http://nadelectronics.com/download.php?130319150322-NAD_PP3i_PP2i_Data-Sheet.pdf|PP2i%20Phono%20Preamplifier

Technics Receiver - http://www.hifiengine.com/library/technics/sa-gx190.shtml

Thank you to anyone who would be able to help. My (untrained) ears are not detecting much difference between the components, making me thing I should just cut out the Nad and Magni and just use TT->Receiver->Headphones.
