I have the M50 and dont liike them, the HD518 are what I can afford at the moment. My question is are the HD518 better for classical music? IF so,how

Hello,

The Sennheiser HD518 leaks sound while the ATH-m50 don't therefore the ATH-M50 is better for public use. The ATH-M50 lacks soundstage and the sweet mids for classical music. The HD518 on the other hand sound more spacious for classical definitely a better choice but I am not impressed by it for it is too muddy sounding. I heard some mods will help though. The other alternative if you need a lil isolation would be HD439 or AKG K167

Hope it helps,

Billson :)
