I have a pair of Beyer DT990 600 ohms, I love love LOVE them. However I wanted headphones for work, and I decided to go for a closed back to keep sound leakage to a minimum.
I bought DT770 80 ohm, thinking it would feel and sound somewhat similar. For some reason I just cant like them too much. The sound is not that similar, the velour is not nearly as fluffy and the clamping force is way too much for my taste. In fact I often wear really crappy headphones instead just because its too uncomfortable to wear the 770's. :(
Any suggestions for headphones that I will enjoy if I love the 990s, but need something without an open back that leaks less sound?
I can't spend a ton of money either. Priority of purchase:
1) comfort.. love the pillow on the ear factor of the 990s.
2) nice sound (accuracy is not important but I like the vibrant sound of the 990s)
3) no more than 200-ish bucks
If I cant find something maybe I will just use the 990s at work but I hope it doesn't annoy my coworkers :)
thanks for any suggestions!
