My friend has a Asgard 1 and want to sell me, so I had to sell my o2 and pay + $ 50 (converting the currency here from Brazil to U.S. dollars).

My setup> PC> ODAC> O2> Senn hd 600

The Asgard would be a good upgrade? I wanted to take a schiit it is very difficult to find one here in Brazil

I need your help for me to decide :)

Thanks !

I don't see an upgrade in sound or power here.  Most importantly I don't see benefit for driving the HD 600.

I would consider the change for the Asgard 2, but not for the 1.

BTW: I love Sgt. Garcia.

thinking of an upgrade in the future to my hd 600 which amplifier would you recommend?

That's a tough question to answer, especially without spending 2, 3 or more times what above price of the O2.  The O2 is a very good amp for the money.

I'd begin by checking out what Audio-gd has to offer.  They make good amps and provide good value.

Heya,

What are you looking to have different? The O2 covers your solid state needs. Everything in the $400 and under area is mostly just going to be a different flavor, but not really make anything "better" beyond simply giving you another flavor to taste to expand your preferences.

If you really wanted to branch out, try a tube. The new Schiit Vali would be more an attractive option than the Asgard at this point since you already have the O2. Alternatively in the price range of a new Asgard, the Little Dot MK III and DarkVoice SE336 would be some options too if you wanted to go OTL tube.

Very best,

Very best,

very interesting this new schiit vali, did not know of this release.

I've thought about upgrade to a tube amplifier, which made me more interested was the Bottlehead Crack
