After Master 9 purchase and I get accustomed to it with my other headphones (LCD-3/HD700/ATH-M50) and perhaps a local meet with some other headphones and the dollar will go down... there's a (good) chance that I'd get the HE-1000

Sounds like a plan :) I am really looking forward to hearing the HE1000, I am a big fan of the HE500 and HE6. Unfortunately, Hifiman abandoned their high-end-at-a-budget-pricing policy, though.. If you cannot make the stretch, the HE6 is great with the M9 =)

i've ordered mine from audiophonics.fr

it should be the regular.I'll follow the instructions on the audio-gd website to avoid any problem with my dac.

Meh, I've done the same though through Era-in-Ear (Ukrainian dealer), they are great people!

People who are with Auralic Vega seem to be doing alright, but I will be extra careful. Just that I need that extra feature for meets and what not and I just want to be sure that I get the original device and I'll get the original sound.... BUT It's not the most risk free move that I did.

On the other hand, I believe people who say Master 9 is an excellent amp and an end game one at that... So... I wish I could say "Schiit happens" but sadly it wouldn't work with audio-gd...

Also notice that after I've talked to kingwa, he DID change the Master 9 page to explain about short to ground thing. ;)

Is it safe to stack my other gears (dac and another amp) on top of the M9?

Noooooo... the M9 gets pretty hot, and vents on the top. If you have good sized feet/risers on your other components....maybe. I don't trust it though.

I would go for the custom.

Your Vega is alive and kicking, I don't see a reason to be afraid...

Though it's certainly frightening, Vega is not a cheap DAC, and for sure it's great...

It's a weird feeling ya know

I don't understand your dilema. If you own a Vega, where the manual clearly states don't ever short output pins, and you want a Master 9, ask for the "custom" fix.

I've asked for the regular version...

Not too late to change the order to a custom fix. Better to play safe I think.

It's alive and kicking because I didn't turn off the amp too many times and now I use it with a lot of caution and fear biggrin.gif. As negura said, no reason to go with the standard if you plan to keep the Vega.

I am... but I can do the same as you and keep full functionality and also a calm mind that I'm getting the full experience (except being super extra careful)

But you will have the full experience with the custom version as well. Really don't understand your dilema
