No. They use the same case, but it's a different dac and amp. There are threads on this topic, but I don't have links. Sorry. Google should help.

Haven't heard the ES18 and don't know your budget/what breaks the bank for you... but for better SQ you may want to try SteelSeries Flux In-Ear($50, universal mic/ 1 button remote), T-Peos D200R($35, universal mic/1 button remote), or Philips SHE3575($10 in red on Amazon right now, universal mic/1 button remote) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004JU0E6W/

...or something like Xiaomi Piston 2.0($25, probably a little bassy like ES18 not sure, Android 3 button remote & mic) based on reading & second hand knowledge. I do not own any nor have I tried any of them minus SHE3590 same drivers as SHE3575 w/o mic. But they are some of your best options for sq and mic below $50.

Hope this helps!

On a deals note... DX has the TTPOD T1-E for $36! http://www.dx.com/s/ttpod

And Amazon has a nice price on a like-new HD558 for $91.50.

As far as the Pistons, the bass to me is higher in quality and quantity than the ES18.  But I also find it an all around better sounding IEM, plus on an odd note, the IEM holder it comes with smells like chocolate.

Those TTPODs look bizarre... but in a good way.  Kind of like a cheap, plastic version of the IE800 design.  I wonder how they sound, and if the different colored tips mean anything other than being colorful.  Anyone have any info on these?

I've bought several pairs of headphones from Brian and my experience is always wonderful. Someone is going to be very lucky to pick these up for that price and I'm sure they're in perfect condition.

If you don't mind the colour white, the Philips Fidelio S2 are only $85.50 us at amazon.com

The black are priced higher $119.00. I'm way over my headphone budget but very tempted to go for it.
