Not dealers. Razordog. And if you look at everything on their site, they all say "everyday low price", even when the price is slashed through. Go check out the HD700 page.

I agree with the other guy, Hifiman is definitely having every retailer that stocks their product discount it for Black Friday weekend, and I'm willing to bet they'll go back up to 400 after Cyber Monday.

They are the largest iems I have ever seen. Fitting is not for everyone. Powerful bass - the silicone tips sound bassier to me than Comply tips for some reason.. Price is pretty good. Check the refurbished one with even better pricing.

Pretty good deal on the r3 if you're also in the market for a dac/amp, I would probably go for that if I was looking for new iems since I want a portable dac/amp to compliment my portable gear.

i don't think they'll be what you're looking for. i bought ie80 and sony xba-3 at the same time, and even thought i'm a basshead, i have used the xba-3 (with bass boosting amp) a lot more. the clarity on a triple/quad BA is far superior to the ie80. and while the bass can't compare to a dynamic like ie80, with a bass boost it's almost enough. almost.

my ultimate iem would be somewhere between ie80 and xba-3...so i'll be looking into the sony H3 (hybrid BA/dynamic) when the price comes down. (or AX-60, but they are a bit too much for me).

anyway, if it's clarity you're after, i reckon you should look into triple/quad BA iems.

ok I got h1 and had brainwavz m3 before

h1 has awesome soumdstage and is pretty enjoyable for pop and trans and even for rock

but when it comes to vocals and classical it just sucks

in my opinion get westone 3 or something else and not h3

I used clip+ rockboxed and walkman e474 and performance was just filled with bass bloat and recessed vocals

its due to mechanical crossover in my opinion

xba-3 should be excellent in details though

you mean me, or DJ George T?

yes, i think w3 or w4 would be a good option for george. or even xba-3/4/30/40 or ue900.

for me though, i think they won't have enough bass. maybe xba-40 (if i was to get a quad BA, i would get those). but i think i need to go hybrid. while it's not the greatest IEM, i've always enjoyed my hybrid super.fi 5EB...so i think hybrid is what i'm after.

I was just talking in public interest.

for anyone

1)sony gives just 3 months warranty and my h1 had no mention of even that?what about xba 1,2,3 etc

2)bass bass and bass for h series
low impedance and metallic treble for 1,2,3

3)now they may have improved with 10,20,30 but thats a huge leap of faith imho

overall the fit and j cord on xba 1,2,3 make the matters worse

one thing though.soundstage is excellent for h series but u sacrifice a lot for that and I will advice anyone to listen to them before getting them

the second thing I don't understand here is that diff budgets will get us diff results

so how can we really compare a 400$ iem with say 200$?

by default pricier one should be better but yes exceptions are there like bose, klipsch 4,ie 60,xba h series, monster turbines etc

all these are worth less than they go for
