you are both right! the links to the postings are hiding from me now also.  i know they exist,

i read them a while ago...hmmm.....and the new listings for the RE700s on all the offerings

have no reviews available....and the picture of the product is slightly different from the initial

sitings on head-fi, which also have no reviews .....could this be a phantom headphone?

audio technics is promoting them with their new tuned aluminum drivers....and i love the

audio technics house house on the es700s etc, so I'm going ahead with my order and will

report back from the edge....

OT, they remind me of the Philips Fidelio line a bit, design wise smily_headphones1.gif
I think that's a good thing.

RE-700 reviews were/are in the discovery thread IIRC.

Its the RE700 I'm focusing on.  I have a set of the ES700, which are very nice phones and have a great

house ATH sound(es700 werehighly recommended by DSnuts..).  There were a whole bunch of postings on the discovery thread about the RE700s but

the search engine isn't picking them up on Head-Fi!   and no actual reviews are found by Google!  so its

a mystery sound.....mine are on their way from Overstock.  supposedly has a whole new aluminum driver

inside the retro styling.  I remember the discovery postings were very positive about the bass response

and fit and finish, and i contacted a head fi member who has them in his collection but no response yet.

stay tuned.  i tried to get them on ebay in december and the were 220.00!! now they are 122.00 or so

in usa edition through a bunch of sources.  slight difference in trim accents from the models shown in

head-fi pictures that have no actual reviews attached to them, but same phones apparently.

Best (full) headphones for under $35?Before I'm told to read the stickies I want to say that I have, but a few of them seem a little outdated.I'm on dat dere poverty time so I cannot afford to invest more than $35 on headphones. I do game but I I'm not looking for a strict "gaming headphone" but rather one to fit my other needs.Been a musician for the past 8 years, primarily in the orchestra so naturally, my taste in music spans from Stravinsky, to charlie parker, to animals as leaders. These headphones will be to listen to music while I study, compose music on my computer, and a little gaming. I know music composition hardware is a whole other monster but I'm saving up big money for that. Anyway, looking for best quality, closed or open.

Try the Superlux Evo hd 681 or hd 668b. Right around that range of your budget.

Why not go IEMs? They offer way better bang for buck in sound quality in the under $50 bracket.
