I got mine Tuesday.  2 JLab J5s (red and black), 1 JLab J6 (silver), 1 JLab Comfort with mic (pink, gave to my mother).  They should make good presents/stocking-stuffers.

Listen, I knew they were technically within their rights to say no. But I've spent thousands of dollars at Amozon, and I've dealt with other companies before, Example, my daughters like the MeElectronic A151 and 161, I've bought them pairs. The first pair fell apart a week or so after the year warrantee was up I didn't think I'd get anything, but tell me this doesn't tick you off when things get JUST outside of the "covered" time, then go bad. So I emailed MeElectronics, didn't really have a "legal" claim. He sent me new pairs, no charge, was extremely nice about it. I've bought more from them since, too. (their newest iem, forget it's model #, is not the best for listening to music, but it is the best when it comes to using the mic to talk on the phone, keep it in my car). I know they are a big company, but the staff was authorized to accommodate me from the first minute I talked to them. Remember, 1 day earlier, I could just have sent it for return and bought another for $100 less, or just called and told them I would, and they'd accommodate the price. Saying, "sorry, you're a day late, tough luck" was within their rights, but, dealing with an unhappy customer, who buys much crap from them, bad service. the fact that my threatening them to stop giving them my business because I was unhappy first got me a 50-50 deal, then another unhappy/threatening email (I am within MY rights to say I won't buy from a business that doesn't care about good service to me) finally grudgingly gave me the other $50. You can think I was wrong, maybe I was, I think, again, they weren't TECHNICALLY wrong, but if you pride yourself on customer service, I think it was poor, even if threats did get me the money (9 times out of 10 I'd just let it go and be angry, the post earlier psyched me to try). You're entitled to think they were princes of customer service if you wish, that's my take on it.

Well, your problem is you went about it the completely wrong way IMO. Making threats and being hostile is the wrong way to get what you want (again IMO). It doesn't matter how much money you spent with them. You don't deserve to have special rules applied to you. You don't have to like their policy and you don't have to shop with them. They have to stick to their policy to weed out a good number of these same case scenarios or they would be issuing refunds left and right. The fact that they gave you the credit in the end, despite being against their 7 day price adjustment policy, speaks volumes about their customer service.

In the future, the best way to go about something like this is to politely ask if they want you to do a return and rebuy or if they can make a "one time exception" (they'll usually give you more than one of these) and credit you the difference. Or just call/chat with a different rep and BE POLITE. Not all reps are the same. If multiple reps deny it, just do a return and rebuy. You're out a few bucks for return shipping and you still get a brand new pair for less than you originally paid.

That's a nice deal for brand-new w/ FS.  Even if you already have one of these or the Clip+, it's definitely good to pick up a spare just to have on-hand.  I was feeling pretty silly for awhile having bought both models around the same time, until the socket on my Clip+ suddenly lost all stability about 1 year in & became useless as a pocket player within just a few days.  Rockbox'd Clip Zip to the rescue...

The Amazon one seems to be dead.  BB is still up tho.  What's the concensus on these players?  I lookedup Rockbox and it seems like a pretty sweet upgrade.  Is it worth grabbing one of these when I already have a Nexus 4?  Firmware aside, is the sound particularly good or bad?

The Clip Zip sounds better than smartphone with a badly implemented or poor quality DAC (the Galaxy S2, et. al.) and not much worse than a smartphone with a really well implemented DAC or a decent quality DAC chip (original Galaxy S, Exynos/Wolfson powered Note 2/3, international Galaxy S3, most iPhones, etc.).

With Rockbox installed, it's a very good player.

What's Rockbox? And does the Sansa by chance run on Android?
