I can't either. My hunch is that it is stripped down HE2-A, in that it doesn't include a DAC. But again, this is just a WAG on my part. lol

There's a chance amazon support might be able to credit you the difference, i bought something then newegg had it for $40 less the next day so I called, guy couldn't help, email survey shows up and I say I'm unsatisfied, they call, and I got a $40 credit.

Otherwise I still wanted to hear if anyone could compare it to the HAVI-B3 which is always $60 and one guy said it competes with $200 in ears

I wouldn't mind that comparison too.

You know, for some reason I thought the EF3 was the one with the DAC. It isnt... maybe it's not as great of a deal as I thought but still not too shabby. Think of it as a free amp.

I made a thread which might be able to help you too, but no guarantees.

Mmmm quite intriguing, but how do those headphones fare? and the Amp as well? looks like a tube amp i suppose.

But then again, I dont know much about tube amps and the he300  lol

The HE300 fairs to the dark side of phones, easy to drive and does well with all genres. The treble can be brought out with a little modding but it's good as is if you like a laid back sound. Treble is far from energetic. A definite dark phone with good speed and attack. Very similar to the RE400 in sound.

Apparently HeadRoom (Headphone.com) just released their very own brand of headphone. It's looks pretty sweet to me and it has been hugely discounted off the MSRP (not sure if it's an intro price though)...LINK

Congrats on picking up a pair, Jaybird. Didn't realize you're in Philly. I'm just north of you on 95 in Princeton/Trenton area. Also, how can you call yourself "Jaybird" in Philly when you consider how the Phillies lost the '93 World Series. Perhaps before your time. wink.gif

On a more serious note, when you add it to your cart it gives you a 10% discount code (only available for today 4/01/14).
