Edit: Nevermind. Pay $50 more for 2nd hand.

Wouldn't want to upset all the moderator wannabes and get the thread shut down.

I did try the 880 pro and that did have some massive DEATH clamp. But my cousins 990 pro clamp is there but no where near uncomfortable even with glasses.

Code for the Accidental Extraordinary phones are still good as of March 21, 2014. I just purchased a set.

Didn't need them; I already own the Creative Aurvana Live 2 and Audio Technica M-50, which Tyll thinks are better in the price range.

But as Tyll mentions, those walnut cups go all the way through to the drivers and there seems to be a lot of modding potential on these.

I also really like the high quality materials and the slightly retro rectangular wood panel look. A conversation starter for sure.

I purchased one too and went through the same thought process about the retro look. Also, I'm really loving my on1 w/ wooden cups, so these were appealing to me. Hope they sound great!

so many people wasting money on "deals" instead of something good.

I agree that it seems that some here buy unnecessarily (I'm guilty of this sometimes, myself), but I don't agree if the implication is that a deal cannot be had for "something good"?

Personally, I'm at the point of considering a deal ONLY for quality sounding IEMs.....I'm always hoping for the holy grail.  The problem, often, is determining the quality sounding part.....because it is so subjective.
