I'm assuming that these are now mass produced and maybe not the same as the original item? How else could they be under $200 instead of the original $2000?

Does anyone know the story?

They don't even look remotely alike. Look at the pictures.

OK, gotcha. They make the designations quite confusing. Thanks.

In what way? We had HD800 at $890, HD700 for $549, numerous great other holiday sales. Also sales on TDK products popping up on TJ Maxx and Marshalls shelves at well over 50% off. And now it is January and there are fewer deals.
Please don't behave like a person who thinks that the lowest price ever is the new regular price. After a shopping and sale season, any deal thread/site will not be in its prime.
You don't need to chime in to contribute nothing. Just move along if something isn't for you.
Thank you to this thread for the deals I've gotten (and at least considered) throughout the 2 months I've subscribed. I hope to continue sharing what deals I come along with the rest of you who Do Appreciate This thread.

Someone asked me to comment on the Blueant Embrace headphone that was on sale at Amazon for $40. I just checked, and they are still $40 at Amazon, so these comments may be relevant to anyone thinking about purchasing these.

http://www.amazon.com/BlueAnt-Embrace-Stereo-Headphones-Remote

To me, they are a very interesting headphone. Some had described the bass as really mushy and muffled. And for them that killed the sound.

Agreed on the point that they are muffled in the bass. But the bass quality is like a thick fluid, not like a pillow on top of your ears as you would think when you hear the word "muffled". So it actually makes for a very interesting and engaging listening experience with the right music.

The midrange itself is clear and delicate, and it's mesmerizing to hear it cut through the warmish, fluid bass at certain points in the music. Treble is quite subdued and pleasant.

I would call these a big fail at the original $199 price point. At $40, I'm enjoying them, but I could see how some folks would absolutely hate this sound signature.

Btw, I say I'm enjoying them because I use them for a very specific purpose: they are my nightstand phones. The warm, fluid bass and clear, delicate midrange make for a nice sound to fall asleep to. Also perfect for the is the on-the-ear form factor. Over-the-ear phones simply do not work when the back of the cups are pressed against the pillow (and into the back of your ears). These sit right on your ears on top of the pillow.

When going to sleep, I listen to ambient music (Harold Budd station on Pandora), and these phones work perfectly for me in that capacity.

If you are into beat heavy music, or solid, tight bass, however, you will not like these phones. For more amorphous music that focuses more on tone than rhythm, these may be very nice.

Probably because there's a page of discussion for every deal so you have to look through pages of crap since everyone feels the need to give their opinion of the deal, opinion of the headphone, and tell us if they purchased it, then reply to others also. I stopped looking a few weeks before it closed and they made this, but isn't that why they closed it and moved it here? Which was so they could discuss stuff and have more freedom, but it's much less convenient for anyone that wants to just see what is on sale. If I want to know whether or not I should buy the headphone, I'll search the forum for reviews of it and Chaco CCC for price trends.

Bottlehead Mainline flagship headphone amp kit - $200 off to $999 good until 1/15 for all you DIYers out there!

http://www.bottlehead.com/store.php/products/mainline-headphone-amplifier-kit

I've had the experience of building two Bottlehead products in the Crack and Quickie, and both have performed far outside its price bracket. The Crack was as good as the WA7 imo for high impedance headphones, and the Quickie was a "What kind of sorcery is this?!?!" moment where I wondered how something so cheap ($99) could perform so well. It's pulling most of the weight in my HD800 chain, even more so than the Crack.

If I hadn't recently spend close to $1000 on the HD800, I would be tempted to get that. Actually their flagship preamp, the BeePre, interests me far more just basing off how well the Quickie is performing. :D

All products sold through this web site are from China--where they make Audio-gd products.

The product seems to be the same as this, sold by another vendor for $13.09 on the site:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Multifunction-5-in-1-HiFi-Wireless-Headphone-Earphone-Headset-Wireless-Monitor-FM-Radio-MP3-PC-TV/701137007.html

Hello, guys! I'm a new user, I'm from Ukraine and registered here especially to write post about this item. I don't speak English wery well, it's not my mother-language but I'll try)))

This is usually fraud from Ali Express sellers. Sellers from china very much like to cheat with their items. It's not ebay so everyone can add shop, when the other one is closed. One seller can have 20-100 shops on different links.

They count on mass orders. Explain. For example he has 50 shops. On every shop he has 50 deals like this, with such "magnetic" price, or "awesome deal". For ex. he sells 1 unit of each his shop with one cent. 50 shops*100 items = 5 usd|day(but really it's more because most buyers from Russia and Ukraine, like I and they don't know about this cheating too and counting for awesome deals with free delivery worldwide and don't think that here maybe something wrong.

Seller sets, for example estimated delivery date for 60 days, for this 60 days he has 150 usd/per month and this is very good money for China and it's very good money from nothing. He nothing sells, nothing spends and just receive money after estimate delivery date lasts, because than dispute term is ended and money automatically gets to sellers. Just a few people will insure that their order is placed, shipped and will watch to dispute terms, but most of them thinks just"aah.....it's only 1 cent, it's OK." - but from this OK such trepans live. And even 50 of this people will open dispute he will have one-three weeks additional to make his offers and it's additional money or he can give back your 0.01 cent and make his offers more. So if dispute will be won he will be able to pay you one cent but other orders will have status "finished" and he'll receive his money) And even if his shop will be closed by Ali Express, he'll have 49 shops more)))

So, you won't receive anything, even track number because delivery from china costs 2.32 usd with track number, so forget about this deal and go to order place and "cancel it" with a reason - wrong order. Seller must accept to return money =)

Hope I helped to someone. Have a nice days, friends!

Aliexpress has cancelled my order because the seller failed to ship.  They say that they will issue my refund ($0.03) in one to two weeks.  I'll be watching for it.

Yes, Friend, and he will have one more order in his reputation without reputation))) They do thiis specially. They love to do one more interisting thing for reputation:

For example he has 10 t-shirts with a price 15 dollars. He or his friend orders this t-shirts, for example, 10 t-shirts=10 orders, and then he changes price from 15 dollars to 1 cent, his friend pays all this order, seller gives him fake track-number, in a few days,3 of 4 after buyer can confrirm order - he confirms and gives him 5 start reputation. This trick do many sellers, so don't trust reputation, buy only from sellers with 1-3 diamonds reputation.

Yeah, one more thing that I forget to write. Discussion about money and credit cards. You'll receive your money, don't worry. Seller doesn't have you money. All money, until you haven't received your order and not confirmed it freezes ali express, so seller have nothing until time limit ends automatically or you confirm it yourself. So money will give Ali Express, not seller. Usually it's really about 1-2 weeks, but I, for example, bought there smartphone Zopo for 330 usd and seller promised to ship an item in 2 days. I waited 10 days and seller doesn't have this item in stock, so I've opened dispute and surely won it. I was very happy to get back my money but my happiness was to early.....Ali Express made a refund proceeding for 1.5 month. 1.5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! month, I wrote in support 5 times about my chargeback and they always told just "Wait, dear customer and you'll receive you money back". So don't be nervous, you'll receive your money 100 % back but the question is when?. Sometimes it sets from few hours, days and sometimes for weeks and month.

Now, few world about credit cards, this is confidencial information, so they only see order like this, this is my order history:

http://clip2net.com/s/6xEZMo

http://clip2net.com/s/6xF10b

Don't have permission for posting pictures but as you can see, the don't have any credit data. The only, they can see it's first and last name, and the can write PM to you and on email there will be spam)))
