Should I give the re400 another chance?

I bought them a few months ago but returned them, they were very balanced which I like and the detail was super impressive, what I felt was lacking was clarity though, perhaps after burn in they get better?

My only iem is the xba3 which is balanced armature so I never noticed a change , dynamics are different?

Another issue is that they were VERY small, I am used to the bigger xba3 and it fits great, the 400 I kinda could feel it uncomfortable, can that be fixed with tips?

Also are the re600 that much better? They are very expensive.

You should explain what you mean by 'clarity' and how it lacks 'clarity' while having lots of detail.

You won't necessarily notice any difference between a good dynamic and a good BA.

If the RE-400 was too small, you can use longer tips and it should be all OK. Smaller usually means the fit is easier as long as the housing is clear of your ear.

The RE600 has a bit less treble. The difference is subjective so you should probably try them and see if possible.

Im not the best with these terms but the best way i can explain is like this; compared to my xba3 when I listen to the re400 they sound like they are covered behind something, like they are behind a blanket, like they have a muffled sound, take that blanket off and they would sound like the xba3 which sounds clear, the xba1 sounds like that compared to the xba3 as well.

As far as detail what I mean by that is that I notice many little instruments and nuances in the background that I did not even notice in the xba3.

Does that make sense?
