I am looking for cheap studio headphones for home mixing and music listening, in a price range lets of about 50€(70USD).
The music I listen and create is mostly electronic dance music (techno, trance, house...) so I simply can not get away with a solid low frequencies section, which means decent presence of tight, but not exaggerated or bloating bass. Also, big sound stage is greatly welcomed, so probably I want something that is more fun rather sterile and boring.
I have tried HD681F and I don't like them at all. There is no bass and highs raped my ears, there is just some peak in high section witch makes high-hats and vocals so sibilant that my head almost exploded.
I also tried a bunch of Senns, from 50-300€ range I think. They all had very clear sounding, but small sound-stage and not so satisfying bass section.
There was also ath m50, which a lot of people recommended for EDM, but I returned them. Bass section was so bloated and muddy, basically there was no sense of tightness and response.
I own some in-ears (got them with some LG phone) and they're pretty fun, but muddy as hell. There IS bass, but it's exaggerated and bloating, they definitely sound big and fun, but there is no instrument separation, stereo image feel, no that airiness and it's like somebody filtered out some portion of highs. These phones maybe point a direction what I should be looking for, but definitely I can not use them for mixing. Plus I have feeling that with in-ears I stress my ears less for some reason.
What you recommend guys?HD668B/HD681EVO maybe?Or some in-ears like sennheiser cx 300 ii?
