Headphone, mic and soundcard

Thread Starter

Hi, I want to buy a new set of sound peripherals and a soundcard.

I have read the Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide and i have seen that the Creative Aurvana Live! can be good but ¿what is your opinion? And ¿what mic and soundcard do you recommend?

I want to use it for gaming and music purposes but I don’t want to spend more than 150€.

Thanks for your time and excuse my bad English.

Asus xonar dx is a nice little sound card for efficient headphones. Perhaps look at the modmic or something like that?

Maybe there is a good headset better than The  Creative Aurvana Live! or better headphones close in price?

I guess it depends on what you value and the use of the headphone. You could just get a zalman clip-on for mic

I think they are too expensive for my budget around 150€.

Returning to the topic.

Are the creative a good option or there is a other headphone or headset close in price?

A good sound card to give surround better than my onboard on the asus formula v?

Thanks.

To make it worth the cash, the Creative Sound Blaster Z, I think is the cheapest sound card you would want to invest in.

Better DAC then the motherboard's, has a headphone amplifier (guessing the motherboard does not) and uses the latest Creative software, SBX, while the motherboard uses the slightly older Tru Studio Pro.

Or maybe skip the sound card and spend your whole budget on headphones.....AKG K612 Pro, 120GBP
