I'm curious on one feature that I can't find mentioned anywhere, is it also targeted to be as lightweight as possible?

That's a feature I love about the Sandisk Clips, you can clip it on your t-shirt and hardly notice it's there.

So personally I would prefer cheap and lightweight plastic above metal components or casing if that will lower the weight.

Is there an estimate on the weight already?

edit:

Never mind, I see I made a big misjudgement on the size, only looking at the pictures.

It's in a completely different ballpark as the Clips.

It doesn't have to be made of plastic to be relatively light. Of course, the Clip is super light. But it's tiny!

Congrats on the final "ID" so FiiO has settled on the final design of the X1 already???

Hope it's a nice one, but my wheel design is still the best.

Umm, is he serious about no black? And can we see the final ID? ...

I'd assume James was joking.  Altho if it only came in blue, I'd be happy.

Personally, I'm super excited about this. Not like I have anything against my iPod nano 7g which is decent, don't get me wrong, but I feel this thing will do wonders. I can't wait for the X1 to drop.

Also, will we get one of those silicon cases? They look very nice, comfy, and safe.

Having colorful colors for the X1 is actually beneficial to the market as this is more for average consumer not budget audiophile IMO

The "average consumer" will likely never even know FiiO products exist.

I've showed my FiiO amps to people before and usually the response was something like, "what is that thing?" and then,"why would you need an amp for headphones, it's not like a car with big speakers".

No billy..........just the color options does'nt count on sq..its just a kinda fancy. And if i want a sub$100 pro DAP(exclusive) i would opt X1. It rewards me in 2 ways, one as a budget DAP and second(the best) with 3 color options.

And those average consumers will buy coby, sony, fruit(?) blings mp3 players as they never come across by the name FiiO. And if they, the deciding factor is a real challenge to them and finally end up buying their known brands.

Kind of true too!

FiiO should consider working with DUNU to include a "stock" earphone for the FiiO DAP line. Don't have to be DUNU's flagship, the entry or even cheaper should do. When I come to think about it! audiophile DAP to date, does not include an earphone @.@ while I do understand that majority of the buyers already own better headphone but I also believe that at times, we wish to have a low cost IEM that we can carry around when going to less "safe" place IMO
