It does make sense to have a uniform UI, from both a manufacturer's and consumer's viewpoint. Here's to hoping. Cheers'

But both the DAPs they have now uses different control. X3 will be upgraded to scroll wheel soon like the X5 and hopefully some upgrade on the chips. Probably FiiO is trying to use the same UI for X1, X3 and X5 with the X7 a different Ui since it looks like a touchscreen DAP. Again, it's my opinion, other's may disagree xD

Happy new year! xD

Thanks man, this schedule is pretty fast though...

maybe it should be, as there's little info on the X1 at this moment, this thread derails faster than a train in a looping.

Agreed. Maybe it can stay quite a while until FiiO releases more information about it, which will take time cuz they are busy with making X3 perfect and polishing X5 until the international release.

Sorry if this is repetitive to other replies, I haven't gotten the chance to read the whole thread and I'm new here.

But if I'm not mistaken, you guys are trying to market this to "newbies" who want an inexpensive DAP that's apart from their phone. Someone who has an android or iPhone and is making the switch over, not the average Head-Fi user. Because of that, I think you're gonna have to focus as much on software as on hardware.

I saw it mentioned on the X5 thread, and I think it's worth repeating. Create a software, somewhat like iTunes that can at least transfer music over to the X1. I know drag and drop is easy enough, but I know tons of people who have an android phone but still carry around an iPod because of the convenience of the whole experience that Apple has set up.

What would be great would be something that transfers over everything from your iTunes library (Song names, artists, playlists, play counts, etc) and vice versa.

Sorry but there are a number just like me who hates Apples restrictive ecosystem. I prefer drag and drop.

You are not alone. Have been using Nano since the 4G, but never touch iTune beside upgrading firmware.

I have nothing to worry about FiiO's software for the X1 as I am guessing FiiO will be using the same UI as on their X5. I do not appreciate Apple iTunes either, they just slow everything down. It takes 1 min to sync a single song into my old iNano 3rd and original iPhone.

I guess the reason why an Android user carries an additional iPod is probably because when majority of phone memory is near to full or full, they tend to lag real hard! With an iPod, they can divide the task by separating music and others.

IMO
