what are some things you guys use to make external playlists (please include plugins too if applicable) with similar functionality to most media players (winamp, media player classic, etc) that works with the X1?

also before you say it, I tried to just format both the 32GB and 64GB inside the X1 before and it didn't get recognized properly by winamp so hence my decision to just format it as an android device making it a lot more compatible with programs I've used before, or at least i thought it did. any suggestions to what I could use as an external playlist manager/maker are MORE than welcome as long as they aren't too hard to pick up and use.

please help :(

TL;DR what external playlist managing/making programs do you guys use (that also let you sync files to it as well, similar to Winamp) for your X1's?

Ok, when my battery is running low an alert keep showing, the problem is that it turn on the screen and help to burn the battery...

is a way to disable it?

How is it compared to X3 and X5 ?

My X5 is better, for me.  Bigger, though.  Sound is different as well.  Both are very nice, sorta Firebird/Camaro thing going' on, alike but different. I listen much more to the X5, use the X1 when I travel because of its size.

That is now the worst thing about X1, and knowing that before I wouldn't have bought it.

How many people use CUE or even know what it is, even here at head-fi? Couple percent?

I'm disappointed.

Or they could simply make X1 show filename if there is no title tag. That's all!

don't worry, sometimes it is quite difficult to us to balance the request from Western and Chinese users. but we will see if we can solve it in the coming soon!

Thank you, James, that would be great :)

Hi James, is it normal to hear static or crackling sound when plugging and unplugging the headphone jack.it didn't affect the sound when it's plugged in though. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Please understand that there are very huge difference between Chinese and Western users.  I can tell you the true that almost 80% online music without ID3 information. and some even use the cover as advertisement.

another big difference is that Chinese people need CUE support which is not so important to you guys.

Anyway, after 2 years, we learned a lots from our users and I think we can do better and better now.

@JamesFiiOAs a long time user of Apple handhelds now i'm thinking in switch to some Fiio portable player but as of a now i miss a few things on the FiiO ecosystem. So i'd just like to toss a few ideas:

1. It would be really useful for people with large digital collections if Fiio could make a program to handle digital music. Or just a plugin to use Fiio stuff with iTunes (as Window Phone desktop software does)

2. Would not it be possible to implement a low power mode to get better battery time for iem users? heck my iPhone can do 20 hours of music working as a phone and 40 working as an iPod. And its sound driving iems is on the same league that fiio stuff (THD+N, crosstalk, z...)

3. now playing screens should be flatter and less cluttered than sometimes they are. Please don't overlap the artwork. (It's like putting a blanket over a picture). Of course proper tag handling and artwork based navigation mode would be awesome.

4. Sound is to serve music and not the other way around. Somehow i feel that this idea should always be remembered e.g. when at the UI drawing board. Sound is a vehicle that makes easier for the user to connect with the music. Music is not an excuse to analyse sound. Emotional connection matters the most and the UI helps to that.

Now that Apple has left the building (iPod wise) Fiio is in a great position to conquer that market but end to end user experience has to be improved (UI, battery, desktop software)

My 0.02

Because I'm never using iTunes and don't have iPod, what is best thing from iTunes? Is there any program similar like iTunes but free and compatible with DAP like FiiO (or ext. drive)?

The X3 also plays DSD. However, in both cases the FiiO converts the DSD to PCM to play it. So it's convenient if you already have DSD files, or have another player that actually plays DSD without converting to PCM.  Somewhat similar to how the FiiO players will play 5.1 WAV files, but  they're folded down to 2.0.  Convenient, but you're not hearing actual DSD or 5.1.

I've down-converted using Audirvana from DSD 1bit to 24/192 and the sound difference on the X5 is not discernible (to me).  So if the X5 is internally down-converting to the same rate, it's just easier to put DSD files on my card. File size is about the same.  I don't think any portable player plays DSD as DSD.  Something to do with analogue volume control and some other stuff that portables can't easily fit/handle.  If I'm wrong and you know of a portable (battery-powered) player that will play DSD as DSD, please post here.

Yes, I do understand that. And, I have to admit, sometimes I forget that not everyone is so... meticulous about tagging music as I am. So please forgive me for being maybe too harsh in my prevoius comments, because you are doing really great work, and X1 is a wonderful piece of hardware. Its software though have some room to grow, but, well, nothing is perfect :)

For now I am going to simply rename all my files to %title%.flac, and for listening to whole albums use playlists, I think. That is not very convenient, but I definitely can live with that. For some time :D
