How do you import songs in the X1 without making it into a format where it creates a music folder>title>song

Is there a way to make it so it can immediately be a list of songs once you click the music folder?

Help, I'm a rock.  Help, I'm a cop.

Sorry, couldn't help it.

I will try the card reader. When I connect the X1 to the computer the folder is where is supposed to be. I tried rescan with and without the card and with and without the particular folder.

3/ if it still doesn't work, then it probably has to do with some strange name or ID3 tag

1: Already done. No change.
2: No. Just flac files and a folder.jpg (the image shows right as cover art when the album is accessed from category).
3: Maybe but the album is perfectly payable from category, so...

Is there something wrong with my version of Media Monkey? Is there a setting I need to change?

Not sure about music playback. I use it primarily to organize and tag music files. There are a lot of options to sort and filter large numbers of files.

Take out the photo just because.  Try it.  Make a new folder.  Put the music back in it.  Try it.

If that doesn't work, live with it, as whatever it is, unless you want to reformat your card, or re-rip the album, or go through the tags step by step, that's probably how it's going to be.

And you don't want it to be in alphabetical order?

Make up folders, number the songs in each folder, they will play in the number you order them.  01, 02, 03 etc.  I have an album in each folder, or a compilation of songs.  They will show up in numerical order in Album list, and in Artist list.  Simply choose the folder/album/artist and open it.  In Song list they will show up as all of the 01s, 02s, 03s, etc.  There you can play in numerical order or use shuffle.

01 The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down The Band

And make sure all tagging does not include numbering.

Pretty easy.  This is not an iPod or similar, will take a bit of work at first to organize things.  Once you have it right, no issues.

It should work in Category mode, but in Folder mode, you'll just see your list of 2000 songs.

And I don't know of any readers with 4 micro SD slots, though I admit that I've never really looked for one :P You could use something like this with 4 readers.

it is weird that my clip put the songs in correct numerical order

It just orders songs differently, I wouldn't call it weird. Instead of sorting by track number, it sorts the file names in alphabetical order.

Dumping 2000 songs into the card all loose and naked sounds like a headache to me.  If you put them in folders you can order stuff and you still can play all songs on shuffle if that's what you want.

I use two readers at once when I want to move things from card to card.  One plugged into a USB 4-hole external and one into a USB cord connected to my Mac.  I tried plugging two into the USB 4-hole and it only read one.

If you don't put a number in front of a song title, it will use alpha order instead of numerical order.

2 readers works, using each time the µSD slot, and the SD slot with the adapter thing to µSD. (I just tried for the glory of science but I don't have a hub so it was on 2 different usb slots)
