I think it is PCM1792 for X5, 8740 for X1/X3. I predict the amp section will be different for X1 and it will not support USB DAC feature

James mentioned that the X1 will not support USB DAC and X1's amp output power at 32Ohm is 100mW

I was glad FiiO didn't use the same DAC for all their X series / DAP. I guess that's because they know that we will just get the cheapest in the line, the X1 and purchase a high end amp xD

PS: I'm now torn between to get X1 + O2 or X3 MK2 only xD

X1 looks sexier. tongue.gif

Very interested in this player. If Fiio does things right they have a great opportunity to corner the part of the market that Sandisk seems determined to abandon, and with a better product at that.

If this player is somewhere reasonable below the $100 mark they will sell however many they can turn out. From everything I've seen on this forum and others the demand is definitely there.

Wish this seems perfect for me, I was about to buy a dedicated portable player, the clip zip most likely. This could be amazing, I want option C btw. Can't come soon enough! Don't make it so we have to pair with amp, defeats the entire point. I want a truly portable quality player that doesn't cost over 100$, don't want stress about breaking or losing to be too harsh.

What kind of cans are you planning to drive with your DAP?

Everything I have and anything I may buy in the future :D

The X3 may not have enough power for 1 of my cans however, I can connect it to my E09K so that doesn't matter

I think it is too early to assume that the line out X1 is equal to the line out of X3.

Same here. A $200 player always ends up costing 200 euros somehow.

I thikn this has all the potential of becoming a great little player if James takes the most important aspects of the x3 (quality and power) If he then manages to get some distrubution channels set up he could sell an awful lot of them

i have huge problems with fiio's tardy distribution.

in india there is just 1 dealer and it costs 260$,,just not worth it,its far better to import from mp4 nation that is also giving free brainwavz r3 with it,for 200$

Probably because of the tax? It's high in Europe...

Probably. And if you then see mp4nation... well, it's very tempting. This player needs and probably could, get the same mainstream attention as that Sennheiser momentum thingy.
