Just received my Fiio X1 and it looks amazing.

I can't wait for my 32GB SD Card to arrive tommorow. So far, really better than my Ipod Shuffle 4th Generation.

Hi all,
Sorry if this is the incorrect thread to post this message in but I was just wondering, Who to contact/ report to about software BUGS I already found in the new X1?

I received my new device yesterday, inserted my friends SD card he lent me that is running in his X3 and came accross these bugs:

-Shows the incorrect Album arts on some to many songs. This happens especially if you have mixed songs (by artist etc-) in a mixed album (Very Annoying)

-Some album arts are off the screen. (Too big for the display- Same issue as the X3 but not as bad)

-When you select a new playlist and play the 1st song, it sometimes automatically skips to the next song on its own… only sometimes tho. This issue is strange and hard to replicate. It only happens sometimes. It happened 2 times already in the last half hour of me playing with the new unit.

Thanks for your time.

Hi all,

I couldn't find a answer, so here is my question. Will there be a software update for "Asynchronous USB DAC function" with X1?

Thanks,

Henri

I haven't had that so far with mine.

So in your opinion X1 sounds superior to say an iPod classic / video? Just trying to get a grasp here.

The X1 is definitely better than the iPod classic.

Yes. I prefer the sound of the X1.

It's warmer than the Ipods and has more weight in the bass on headphones. From line out it's even better. The output direct from the headphone socket is also a bit more robust in sound. It provides a little more volume for those headphones that are on the cusp of being too soft on the IPod.

The Ipod interface is better I think, but sound is more important to me. I hate using ITunes and everything is so slow with Ipods and computers when you have a lot of files. I much prefer drag and drop.

I'm really pleased with the X1 although it has its own set of quirks too. At its price, it's a great performer.

I own both the classic and the x1. The sound of the x1 is far superior.

iPod classic has 1 feature that X1 doesn't have that really fustrates me but hopefully can be added in future UI firmware upgrades is a search function. I have many GB worth of music all in mixed folders and was awesome to search for a song while on the go. Now to find a specific song I can sit for up-to 5 or so mins searching. Very dissappointing.

You will be well rewarded when it arrives!

Yes, I think it's on the way. I have about 200gb of music. So what I've done, is spread it across different cards, set up for different genres. That cuts searching a bit. I also have cards with different mixes. Sounds a bit ocd, but it helps with so many files.

I do agree, the lack of search is a pain, but that could well be on the way.

Here is my review of X1.

I am kinda late to the party, but its better late than never right :)

I do think we have the best X1 photos I've seen on the web, internal pics too.

Enjoy!
